#DiversaMente - Youth Against Discrimination | Artistic Workshops

Mirmica facilitated artistic workshops in five public youth centers in Milan as part of #DiversaMente – Youth Against Discrimination | 2024

#DiversaMente – Youth Against Discrimination is a programme designed to counter the rumours and prejudices that fuel hateful behaviour, and is aimed at young people.

Based on an intercultural approach and bottom-up participation, the project promotes the anti-rumour methodology endorsed by the Council of Europe.

Led by ICEI, the project involved five civil society organisations (Fondazione Feltrinelli, ARCI Valdera of Pontedera, Giro del Cielo CSC of Reggio Emilia, Movimentazioni APS of Pescara, and the Rete delle Case del Quartiere of Turin), as well as three municipalities (Reggio Emilia, Pontedera, and Montesilvano).

Through #DiversaMente, Mirmica ran artistic workshops at five public youth centres in Milan: Lambrateam, Giambellino, Tempo e Poi, Ponte Lambro and Cirié.

The initiative was based on the active involvement of young participants, who chose the artistic forms they wanted to work with: theatre, rap, screen printing, copywriting and comedy.

This approach, together with the project's theme, aligned perfectly with Mirmica's values, as our work has always been inspired by the active participation of everyone involved.

To document the project, Mirmica produced a video in which young people and workers from the centres shared their experiences.
